Vernal Equinox Cacao Ceremony

  • Breathe - Meditation and Wellness 4131 Lomo Alto Drive Dallas United States (map)

Let's celebrate the change of seasons with the medicine of cacao and community. The spring equinox, also known as the vernal equinox meaning new or fresh, is a time to feel the energizing and uplifting energy that surrounds us.

Spring represents new beginnings, renewal and growth. During this ceremony we will have a cleansing ritual, a spiritual planting and a communal growth. Allow the magic of cacao to help open your heart, connect you to the earth and blossom your spirit!

Cacao is an ancient plant with many healing benefits, mostly associated with the heart. Cacao increases the energetic field of our hearts, and when we join together, the field is amplified and woven together with multiple hearts in the room. Whether you’ve heard of cacao ceremony before, experienced one or many, or even if you have no idea what to expect, all are welcome. This is a space to try something new, connect, open your heart, and feel alive.

We will be using ceremonial grade cacao from Ora. Chocolate, making the warm cacao beverage ahead of time. Each person is asked to bring their own vessel to drink from; all other materials will be provided. Learn more about firefly and their cacao sourcing here HTTPS://CEREMONIAL-CACAO.COM/

Note: if you are pregnant it is not advised that you drink cacao unless you already have a cacao practice. For all others, as with any healing practices, make sure you drink plenty of water before and after ceremony.

WHAT IS CACAO

Cacao ceremonies originally served as religious rituals for the ancient Native Mesoamerican cultures and its scientific name is Theobroma cacao, Greek for "food of the gods.” The cacao tree is native to regions in Central and South America. Originally discovered by the Olmecs in 1500 B.C. and a staple in the Mayan and Aztec cultures for over 4,000 years ago.

Cacao is a true superfood, containing more antioxidants than blueberries, in addition to a good amount of iron, calcium, and magnesium. Cacao is also the reason dark chocolate is considered to have health benefits—it's a notable source of flavanoids which may have beneficial effects on cardiovascular health, and theobromine, a bitter alkaloid similar to caffeine thought to boost moods and energy. Consuming cacao can help with issues such as depression, stress, blood pressure and heart health. Humans have considered cacao a sacred plant for thousands of years. Now you can join the modern rediscovery of this plant and experience the benefits for yourself.

When consumed in sufficient quantity and in the right setting, cacao is a powerful catalyst for all types of inner work. In a cacao circle, we work with this plant medicine to support our healing & growth.
